About Evaluations

Dr. Hill conducts various types of evaluations. The most common type of evaluation involves formally assessing one’s functioning in various areas to identify appropriate diagnoses and treatment planning. Dr. Hill evaluates children, adults, and older adults for many reasons. Common reasons include attention and concentration problems, behavioral troubles, cognitive and memory weakness, developmental delays, emotional and mood difficulties, and personality issues. Areas of strength are also identified in the course of evaluation. The evaluation is a formal process involving interviews, rating forms completed by oneself or others, and interactive tasks measuring cognitive and intellectual skills, development, personality and other factors. In addition to evaluations that generally help identify problems and diagnoses, Dr. Hill performs specialty evaluations including but not limited to those for presurgical medical clearance (e.g., bariatric surgery; pain stimulator), employment (e.g., public safety preemployment and fitness for duty; disability; workplace accommodation), and forensic issues (e.g., competency; parent capacity; violence risk).
